DAVE JANSON, Commodity Broker
- Dave and his wife Deb have owned Strategic Farm Marketing since 1996 and have been with the company since 1993. Dave is President of the company and is a licensed commodity broker, crop insurance agent and grain marketing specialist. Strategic Farm Marketing offers a complete program of grain marketing and brokerage services as well as being one of the largest crop insurance agencies in Illinois. Prior to Strategic Farm Marketing, Dave was a senior merchant for Cargill. During his tenure there, he worked at a barge loading facility in Seaford, Delaware; an export and soybean processing plant in Norfolk, VA; a terminal elevator and CBOT delivery warehouse in Toledo, OH; and the Cargill office headquarters in Minnetonka, MN. Dave grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota and has an Agricultural Education degree with a minor in Ag Economics from the University of Minnesota. He & his wife Deb live in Champaign, IL and have three children.

He spent over five years with Lauhoff Grain Company in Danville, IL as a grain merchandiser and managed the corn hedging desk. Ed was also a commodity broker for Lakes Trading Group in Indianapolis, IN and managed the feedmill division. He earned an Agricultural Economics degree from the University of Illinois. - Has been with the firm since 2001 and is a licensed commodity broker and crop insurance agent. Tom and his wife Kathy currently reside in rural Tuscola, Illinois. After returning from Viet Nam, he attended Eastern Illinois University for 3 years in a pre-pharmacy program. In 1974, Tom went to work for Tuscola Cooperative Grain as the bookkeeper and left in 1985 as the interim manager. At this point he was hired by Cargill, Inc to create a pilot farm program for terminal level facilities; it continues to exist today. Tom left Cargill in 2001 as the location manager of the Mattoon Terminal Elevator to take his present position with Strategic Farm Marketing.

- Chris joined SFM in October of 2006. He is a licensed commodity broker and crop insurance agent and currently helps producers with marketing and crop insurance in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Ohio. He spent 23 years in the agricultural industry after leaving college and prior to coming to SFM. 18 of those years were spent in the grain elevator industry.
